'Very attractive in his own way': Cesc Fabregas names the Arsenal player who is so 'underrated' right now

Arsenal’s title hopes could very much hinge on the outcome of this weekend’s clash with Manchester City in the Premier League.

The Gunners are looking to avoid a repeat of last year where they fell away from contention.

Mikel Arteta’s side were some eight points clear at one point last term before a couple of key injuries hampered things. In the end, City’s brilliant run of form ensured another title at The Etihad.

As we know, Arsenal signed a number of players in the summer to try and combat things.

The likes of Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and David Raya all signed. Crucially, too, William Saliba has stayed fit this season, unlike last term.

And going in to tomorrow’s game, former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has been speaking about one of those new signings, Kai Havertz.

Cesc Fabregas makes claim about Kai Havertz

Speaking to the Planet Premier League podcast this week, Fabregas was asked about the comparison between Havertz and City’s star striker, Erling Haaland.

And while Fabregas admitted that Haaland is brilliant and everyone knows what he’s going to bring, the Spaniard also had some kind words for Havertz.

Speaking about the German, Fabregas believes that Havertz is actually underrated and in his own way, is a ‘very attractive’ player.

“Haaland, you know what he is, you know what he brings. I think with Havertz, they are still a little bit, you know he can be a little bit unpredictable. In games, he puts a little bit his body in midfield, he goes to the left he goes to the right. He has really really good timing of his run, attacking the space.

“He’s a very intelligent player. Very attractive in his own way. Again, I think he’s underrated in his own way. He was at Chelsea, he is at Arsenal even though they’re now seeing what he is about,” Fabregas said.

Kai Havertz stats show he’s been a good signing

While at over £60m, eyebrows have been raised about Havertz, there is no doubt he has come to the party more as the season has gone on.

One more goal sees him into double figures this term and crucially, he’s scored big goals in big moments.

Havertz has actually netted in each of his last four outings, including the dramatic winner against Brentford.

It goes to show the faith Arteta has in Havertz too. The German has started 20 of his 27 appearances in the PL this season and is rarely taken off before the 75 minute mark.

Havertz, then, has proven a fine signing for the Gunners on the whole and seems to be getting better.
