'Nope, this is humiliating': RNC's attempt to shame Obama backfires on Trump

Former President Donald Trump

A recent attempt by the Republican National Committee to shame former President Barack Obama with video of his descent from Air Force One Thursday did not go well for Donald Trump.

The RNC's X account posted the video, which shows Obama walking a few steps behind President Joe Biden, with the message "HUMILIATING: Obama follows Biden down the short stairs after landing in New York City for their day of ritzy fundraising."

The RNC appeared to be referencing previously reported news that Biden opts to take the "short stairs" over the more traditional 18-foot staircase, on which he has tripped more than once. The dig might also be at the fact that Obama was walking behind Biden.

The group also took a jab at Biden's fundraising event where three former presidents reportedly issued stark warnings about former president Trump.

"It's not just the negative case against the presumptive nominee on the other side," Obama reportedly said in support of his former vice president. "It's the positive case for somebody who's done an outstanding job as president."

George Conway, the conservative attorney who founded the Lincoln Project, was quick to point out one of his reasons for believing Trump had not done an outstanding job as president.

"Nope," Conway replied to the RNC. "THIS was humiliating."

Attached was a video of the United Nations General Assembly laughing when then-President Trump declared his administration had accomplished more than almost any other.

Conway's followers were quick to follow suit.

X user @JoFromJerz shared an Independent article about the time three world leaders were caught on camera making fun of Trump, while @meaowshira shared the "Saturday Night Life" cold open version.

Mimi Melange brought to the RNC's attention the 2018 video in which Trump boards Air Force with what appeared to be toilet paper on his shoe.

"No one cared enough to tell him," she wrote.

NurseKay said she felt humiliated when Trump saluted a North Korean military general while the nation was technically at war with a U.S. ally.

X user Twitter After Dark sent the RNC their summary of the former president's current political situation along with a video of former Vice President Mike Pence refusing to offer Trump his endorsement.

"Who is endorsing him," they asked, That is not under investigation Serving time Or has a court hearing soon?"
