Foreign Minister of Taiwan Joseph Wu

The Taiwanese official explicitly said that internal political dynamics preventing the United States from its commitment to Ukraine only embolden authoritarian leaders around the world to engage in aggression against their neighbors.

"When people ask us if it is normal that the United States abandoned Ukraine, the answer is no, because the world is not black and white, even if you only look at one part of it at a time," said Wu .

"The world is interconnected."

The minister said that if Russia manages to capture most of Ukraine and declare victory, "it will be seen as a victory for authoritarian states, because Russia, China, North Korea and Iran are now interconnected."

"Chinese officials think like this: "Okay, if Russia can do it, we can do it.", he added.

"That's why the U.S. resolve to support countries that suffer from authoritarian aggression is very important."
