‘We will show them’: Rodri sends big warning message to Arsenal ahead of Man City clash

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has shared a warning message to Arsenal ahead of Sunday’s big Premier League clash.

With the latest international break now out of the way, top-flight football is set to return this Easter weekend, with a big top-of-the-table match lurking around the corner.

Looking ahead to tomorrow’s big game between City and Arsenal, one key figure in Pep Guardiola’s ranks has shared a big claim.

Speaking to the club’s media, Rodri had this to say about Sunday’s big clash against the Gunners.

He said: “I’m not saying it’s going to be decisive, but it will be very important for our confidence, and we will show them that we are here again. It’s not just this game that’s like a final, it’s all of them from now until the end of the season.

“We’re still in every competition, but any game that you lose can practically leave you out of the running. Really that’s the level that this league demands from you, to reach between 90 and 100 points to be able to win the league.

“So, we have to win practically every game and that starts against Arsenal, who are currently the league leaders.”

As things stand, the north London club are currently one point ahead of City at the top of the Premier League table.

With 28 games played, the Gunners have won 20, drawn four and lost four, whereas the Citizens have won 19, drawn six and lost three.

In terms of goals scored and conceded, Mikel Arteta’s side have scored 70 and conceded 24, leaving them with the best attacking and defensive record in the division.

In comparison, City have scored 63 and conceded 28, giving them a weaker goal difference than their upcoming opponents.

Taking all of that into account, and the fact that the Blues lost 1-0 to Arsenal earlier in the season, it’s easy to see why Rodri thinks a victory on Sunday would be a big confidence boost for his side.

Also, with City having to overcome the Gunners in last season’s Premier League race before then going on to secure a Treble, this highlights how much they know about having to secure important victories at this stage of the campaign.

Moving forward, it’s undeniable that tomorrow’s clash at the Etihad will be a key factor in seeing where the Premier League trophy potentially ends up.
