Report: Chelsea would reject any bids over £100m for their 'unbelievable' player without hesitation

Despite the fact Chelsea are languishing mid-table in the Premier League table right now, they still have several extremely talented and expensive players on their books.

The Blues group is filled with youngsters with so much potential, albeit that inexperience is resulting in a few teething problems this year.

We’re looking at the English core of players such as Reece James, Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill with big valuations at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, South American duo Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez cost over £100 million each to bring to west London.

Apparently, there’s a Chelsea player in the ranks that the club simply wouldn’t sell at any cost.

Chelsea would reject £100m+ without hesitation for one player

According to a report from 90min yesterday, Chelsea captain Reece James isn’t for sale at any price this summer.

The 24-year-old defender’s proven over time his world-class abilities on his day, but he can’t seem to shake the injury problems that are plaguing his career.

90min says that Spanish giants Real Madrid are well aware of James’ quality as they search for a new right-back, but a move for the Chelsea skipper is unrealistic for several reasons right now.

It is explained that James has never entertained a move away from Stamford Bridge and he’s still ‘fully committed’ to his boyhood club.

The report states that Chelsea wouldn’t put a valuation on James. In fact, any offer in excess of £100 million would likely be turned down ‘without hesitation’.

Also, Madrid would need more confidence in James’ injury record before they even considered any kind of move.

Reece James fitness nightmare

Chelsea fans haven’t seen James play for them since December. Remarkably, the full-back has only played nine times across all competitions this campaign.

However, the Blues academy graduate is a Champions League winner and possesses everything as a right-back when fit.

Speaking via beIN SPORTS Asia back in November, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino described James as “unbelievable”. Will we see him back on the pitch anytime soon, though?

There was an uncertain update from Mauricio Pochettino on James yesterday:

When asked for an updated timeline on the captain’s injury, Pochettino said via The Evening Standard: “No, I don’t know. It’s difficult to say something because I don’t want you to go ‘but, oh, [you said this].’

“We will assess it week by week and we will see. We hope yes, we hope that he will be available for the end of the season.”
