Arsene Wenger now gives his verdict on whether Arsenal can beat Man City in title race

Arsenal are set to face Manchester City tomorrow in a game which could have huge ramifications in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners are one point ahead of Man City in the table, and are also level with Liverpool, and the game at the Etihad Stadium could see Arsenal fall behind their title rivals or even go four points clear at the top.

The game has been billed as “defining” for Mikel Arteta and for Arsenal’s title chances, as many believe that Man City are more capable than his side at potentially winning all of their remaining games after the clash.

Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger has now given his verdict on whether his former side can best Man City in the title run-in after the two sides face each other.

Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal can win Premier League title

Speaking to Invincible Freddie Ljungberg for Viaplay Sports, via Ljungberg’s X account, Wenger claimed that Arsenal will have learned from last season’s title collapse and have the quality to go all the way.

“I think so yes,” Wenger replied when asked if Arsenal could go the distance in the title race.

“The next game will be a little decider because we go to Man City, but why not?

“City are always a difficult team to play, but not maybe as dominant as they were last year at the moment, but they can always come back.

“They know how to do it, City. They have the experience. Arsenal has the capacity, but they have to show they can do it now.

“I hope, and I’m convinced that we have learned from last year, because last year the tension got to them, and they dropped in the final sprint.

“This year because maybe they have two competitions to go for, they might be a bit more relaxed.”

Arsenal ran out of steam in the final two months of the season, as their chaotic style turned out to be unsustainable.

They were brilliant going forward, but losing William Saliba to injury proved fatal for their title hopes.

Arsenal are now better equipped defensively, whilst Declan Rice and Kai Havertz have added extra physicality to the side, which could prove crucial.

Mikel Arteta may need to rely on his squad players, but Arsenal have more depth than they did last season, and everyone will have a part to play as they aim to keep momentum for the rest of the season no matter what happens at the Etihad Stadium.
