Furious Manchester United fans have vented their frustrations after one player delivered a “shocking performance” in the 1-1 draw against Brentford on Saturday.
Manchester United came close to snatching all three Premier League points at the Gtech Community Stadium after Mason Mount scored deep in injury time.
However, Brentford responded within minutes of Mason Mount’s opener and Kristoffer Ajer scored a crucial equaliser for Thomas Frank’s men.
The Red Devils delivered an underwhelming performance in their first Premier League match since the end of the March international break.
United’s defence struggled in the first half against a Brentford side that have not won a Premier League match since February.
Thomas Frank’s men pushed United until the full-time whistle, with Brentford unfortunate not to lead the Red Devils at different points in the Premier League clash.
United manager Erik ten Hag has been dealt a further blow to the Red Devils’ Premier League top-four challenge after only securing a single point.
The Red Devils are now a whopping 11 points behind fourth-place Aston Villa, though Unai Emery’s men have played one match more than United.
But United, who are sixth in the Premier League table, have fallen eight points behind fifth-place Tottenham with nine league matches remaining.

Marcus Rashford fails to impress for Man Utd
Marcus Rashford started for Manchester United and the England star delivered a lacklustre performance against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The 26-year-old United forward has come under mounting criticism this season over his form, despite Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag keeping faith with him.
Rashford has scored only seven times and registered three assists this season, with the United star failing to replicate his scintillating form from the previous campaign.
The Three Lions international made a brief cameo against Brazil in the international break, but Rashford was left as an unused substitute for the Belgium match.
Rashford’s lack of form and consistency at Old Trafford could even lead to the United man struggling for minutes in England’s Euro 2024 campaign this summer.
The England forward played 80 minutes against Brentford before United boss Ten Hag withdrew him for former Chelsea star Mason Mount.
Man Utd fans react to Rashford vs Brentford
United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, ruthlessly slammed Rashford after his underwhelming performance against Brentford.
“Rashford is truly awful when he is double marked and defenders are covering the half-spaces. The [Man United star] freezes and it annoys me so much,” one fan said.
Someone else added: “Rashford regressed badly this season.”
Another tweeted: “Rashford and Bruno [Fernandes], we will never move forward with players like these.”
“Rashford off. Surprised it hasn’t happened sooner. Shocking performance again,” a fourth posted.
While a fifth wrote: “I’m tired of watching Rashford [and] Bruno play week in, week out.”
Somebody else said: “I would sell Rashford literally for any price at this point.”
And a seventh commented: “Rashford plays football like defenders will stand and watch him do whatever he wants.”
An eighth X user said: “We could have played with Rashford today and you wouldn’t have known. I think we did play without him.”
