In Ukraine, 49 combat engagements were registered in the frontline over the last day. In Sumy region, a Russian subversive group tried to break through into the region, and the largest number of hostile attacks remains in the Novopavlivka direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
The Russian invaders launched a total of 23 missile and 61 air strikes on the territory of Ukraine, as well as fired 41 multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of the Defense Forces and populated areas.
Situation on the frontlines
The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.
At the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.
The defense forces stopped an attempt by an enemy subversive reconnaissance group near Stara Huta, Sumy region.
Russian invaders conducted air strikes in the areas of Oleksandrivka, Sumy region; Ogirtseve, Kharkiv region. About 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Buda-Vorobiivska, Yeline in Chernihiv region; Seredyna Buda, Lukashivka, Starykove in Sumy region; Kozacha Lopan, Lukianets, Ternova in Kharkiv region.
The occupants did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Kupiansk direction. The enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Petropavlivka and Kotlyarivka in Kharkiv region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Stepova Novoselivka in Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled three enemy attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defense of our troops.
The occupants also carried out air strikes near the settlements of Pershotravneve in Kharkiv region and Yampolivka in Donetsk region. Artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 settlements, including Nevske in Luhansk region; Terny, Yampolivka, Torske in Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repelled 7 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation.
The enemy conducted air strikes near Chasiv Yar and Razdolivka in Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky in Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled nine attacks near Semenivka, Umanske and Pervomayske in Donetsk Oblast, where the enemy, supported by air power, tried to drive our units out of their positions.
The enemy also launched air strikes near Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, and Orlivka in Donetsk Oblast. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Berdychi, Umanske, Netaylove, Nevelske in Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka and east of Vodiane in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defense of our troops 16 times.
The Russian invaders also carried out air strikes near Pobeda and Urozhayne in the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers, including Hostre, Maksymilianivka, Kostiantynivka, and Urozhayne in the Donetsk region.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, launched two attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Staromayorske in Donetsk region and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region.
About 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Malynivka, Poltavka, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia region.
Situation on the left bank of the Dnipro River
In the Kherson direction, the enemy made two attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Zolota Balka, Kizomys, Antonivka, Krynky, and Poniativka in Kherson region.
Enemy losses
The aviation of the Defense Forces struck 10 areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.
In addition, the missile units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck 2 UAV control centers, 1 air defense system, 1 electronic warfare station and 1 artillery unit of the invaders.
Earlier it was reported that according to the General Staff on the morning of March 31, Ukrainian defenders eliminated another 650 occupants over the past day. Thus, the total number of Russian troops in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion has already amounted to 442,170 soldiers.
In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 15 tanks, 20 armored combat vehicles and 44 enemy artillery systems.
