Report: Manchester United lead race to sign 'exciting' teenage striker as Ineos plan becomes clear

Ineos are on board at Manchester United and they will surely bring a major change to recruitment come the end of the season.

United are on the cusp of a new era and the summer transfer window promises to be an important one.

Ineos look set to focus their attention on young players who could become stars of the future.

We already know that after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s comments about Kylian Mbappe – comments which Rio Ferdinand supported fully.

Recent speculation has also been centred around youngsters potentially heading to Old Trafford in the near future.

AC Milan wonderkid Francesco Camarda and Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino are already thought to be on the wish list.

United could also look a little closer to home though – and may even go shopping in League One…

Manchester United want Baylee Dipepa

The Sun now report that United are leading the race to sign Port Vale talent Baylee Dipepa.

It’s stated that United scouts have been told that they must be on the case of top young domestic talents moving forward.

Dipepa is one of them and United are described as being ‘keen to do business’ ahead of the summer transfer window.

Dipepa may not be the next Mbappe – we couldn’t possibly but that tag on him right now – but Ineos seemingly want to make sure that United are at least in the mix for homegrown talents.

The 17-year-old is already playing first-team football for Port Vale and United could now snap him up at the end of the season.

Who is United target Dipepa?

Dipepa has emerged in the Port Vale ranks and has already notched 16 first-team appearances, bagging two goals and two assists.

Primarily a striker, Dipepa has now earned three caps for England’s Under-17’s – and that is where he has really impressed.

Dipepa scored twice against Northern Ireland in the international break before adding another to his tally against Hungary just days later.

United talent Harry Amass was in the squad alongside Dipepa and they could yet join forces as Old Trafford.

Port Vale director of football David Flitcroft has praised Dipepa as an ‘exciting’ talent, believing that he can become a ‘successful striker in the modern game’ – and that is exactly why United are keen, with other Premier League clubs surely paying close attention too.
