'Christ-like': Social media users compare Trump's Easter messages to Joe Biden's

Donald Trump is distinguishing himself from his opponents once again. In this case, it's his Easter messages that stand out to those on social media.

Trump made dozens of posts on Easter Sunday, including several that strike out at his enemies and others that compare himself to Jesus. In one instance, the former president directed a "happy Easter" post to those he despises, including the judges and prosecutors involved in his cases.

This is in sharp contrast to the current president, Joe Bide, and people online were eager to point that out.

White House Deputy Press Secretary and Senior Communications Adviser Andrew Bates compared the two men and their messages.

"Biden, marking Easter in the normal, traditional fashion: 'To all those gathering in churches and homes around the world today: Happy Easter. May God bless and keep you,'" he wrote. He added a report from NBC about Trump's Easter statement.

Trump, on the other hand, has "posted this Easter a piece of commentary from the right-wing outlet Gateway Pundit claiming he is 'The Chosen One.' 'What’s happening is supernatural…Trump is ‘the Chosen One.’… What we are all witnessing is ‘The Trump Miracle,'" Bates shared Sunday.

Sahil Kapur, senior national political reporter for NBC, similarly compared the two Easter responses.

"Easter messages from the two major presidential candidate," he wrote on top of screenshots of the political leaders' respective responses.

Conservative Trump critic Tim Miller had this to say:

"Can see why Trump supporters are so offended by Biden’s statement about being nice to trans people this Easter. They are looking for something more reverant, respectful, and Christ-like such as this," he wrote.
