Fierce TV contest sees finalists flown out to Singapore for 'ultimate showdown'

John Torode and Gregg Wallace are back on our screens for a very special series of MasterChef this year. The culinary connoisseurs return for the ultimate showdown this April with the show’s twentieth series. Series 20 comes with new competing chefs as well as a new MasterChef 2024 location.

A first look at the upcoming BBC series sees John and Gregg impressed by some chefs and concerned about others. Sesame crackers burning and jus might not be turning out quite right – it’s safe to say the competition is heating up. Some talented chefs make dishes that “can’t be faulted” as they do all they can to bag the MasterChef trophy.

MasterChef 2024 location

MasterChef is still going strong after 20 years. The series now has multiple spin-offs including Celebrity MasterChef and Young MasterChef.

The brand new series 20 sees 58 of the country’s best home cooks going head to head for the MasterChef trophy.

The series 20 contestants are all new to the show and each week they battle for a place in the Quarter Final.

Not only are the competitors new for this series, but MasterChef is also filmed in a new location this year, too.

Plans for series 20 filming to move to Birmingham were announced two years ago. Now, the show is filmed on set at Digbeth Loc Studios, writes BBC.

BBC show goes global

Speaking during a trailer for series 20, the hosts explain how “only the best can earn their passport to the ultimate culinary showdown.”

This year’s four finalists will face a fancy event filled with bow ties, ballgowns, and Michelin stars to round off their experience.

Upping the ante for the 20-year celebration, the finalists are set to head to Singapore to cook for an exclusive list of top chefs. One of them is “MasterChef Singapore judge Damian D’Silva at The Fullerton Bay Hotel,” writes The Standard.
