Alisson Becker left chuckling after what's just been said about him and Jurgen Klopp on social media

It has felt like an age since Alisson Becker was out on the pitch for Liverpool.

One of the Reds best players this season, Alisson picking up a hamstring issue in February was a huge blow. It’s now coming up on two months that Liverpool have been without their first-choice goalkeeper.

In that time, thankfully, Caoimhin Kelleher has really stepped up. The 25-year-old has ensured that Alisson’s absence hasn’t been as catastrophic as it might have been.

Still, it would be nice to have the big Brazilian back between the sticks. Liverpool’s No.1 is arguably the best in his position in the world and the Reds are a better team with him in it.

Nevertheless, even though he remains side-lined, it was still a pleasure to see Alisson at Anfield for Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Brighton yesterday. Rocking up in a baseball cap, big coat and sporting his usual beard, the 31-year-old even somewhat resembled Jurgen Klopp.

Alisson laughs off Jurgen Klopp comparison

There haven’t been many better players during Klopp’s era at Liverpool than Alisson. It really is a shame that he’s had to sit out so much of the manager’s final campaign.

Perhaps missing being involved in Klopp’s day-to-day activity, X user ‘Liverpool Insane Moments‘ pointed out that the goalkeeper had even come to Anfield dressed as his boss.

“And Alisson who went to see the match today…. COSTUMED AS KLOPP!!?????????” wrote the social media account in Portuguese.

Always one to see the funny side, Alisson responded to the comment, replying to the account with a crying laughing emoji.

When will Alisson return from injury

Having missed Liverpool’s last 12 games, it has been a bit of a nightmare season for Alisson. In fact, he’s played just 24 times all year.

When you bare in mind that Kelleher has now played just one less than the Brazil international this term, you start to see just how much football he’s missed.

And, unfortunately, Alisson isn’t ready to return just yet. As per Klopp’s conversation with Liverpool fans at the AXA Training Centre last week, the goalie is ‘two-and-a-half, three’ weeks away from contention.

That should hopefully see Alisson back in action before the end of April, but there won’t be long left of the season at that stage.

Still, as long as there are no more setbacks, Liverpool’s No.1 will be back to feature before the end of the campaign.

In his absence, we can’t praise Kelleher enough. He has stepped in and been phenomenal. But still, we can’t wait to have Alisson back. He can even keep the baseball cap on.
