Critics of Israeli government policy have set up more than 100 protest tents in front of the parliament in Jerusalem.

The tents are part of a four-day protest action in the city, Israeli media reported on Monday.

Protests against the right-wing government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the actions in the Gaza war are currently attracting crowds: On Sunday, tens of thousands of people demonstrated in Israel for the second day in a row.

Participants near the parliament building demanded the resignation of the government, a new election and a swift deal to release the hostages held by the Palestinian Islamist organization Hamas.
