Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is doing well after undergoing a hernia operation under a general anaesthetic. his office said on Monday.
Netanyahu "is feeling very well and continues to hold his daily routine – including consultations and conversations – from the hospital," his office said in a statement.
"On the advice of his doctors, the Prime Minister will be discharged tomorrow afternoon," the statement said.
He was operated on Sunday for a hernia discovered during a routine examination on Saturday. His office did not state what kind of hernia he had, though the most common is the inguinal hernia.
A hernia means parts of the intestine, organs or fatty tissue protrude through a gap in the abdominal wall.
Netanyahu, 74, has been hospitalised several times in the past due to health problems and was fitted with a pacemaker last summer.
