Roy Keane in awe at exquisite football that one team is playing as Man Utd legend is blown away by ‘smart’ player

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has admitted that he ‘loves’ to watch one Premier League team in action and praised them for playing “sexy football.”

Roy Keane, who is considered one of the best captains of all time, has been a leading face in punditry after his career in football and coaching came to an end.

The 52-year-old Irishman has not been afraid to pull any punches on different teams while in the Sky Sports studio, including on former side Manchester United.

Keane has openly criticised United’s underwhelming campaign this season and even called out different players over their performances, including Marcus Rashford.

Despite his no-nonsense approach to punditry, the Irish hardman has not shied away from the opportunity to hand down praise where and when needed.

Keane returned to punditry duties for Sky Sports on the weekend and the United legend couldn’t help but shower one team with the ultimate praise.

The former United captain’s comments may even irk Red Devils supporters, with Keane even praising one “smart” footballer from a rival team.

Man Utd legend Keane praises one team

Manchester United’s rivals Liverpool were in action on the weekend and the Reds secured a 2-1 comeback victory over Brighton at Anfield.

Former United striker Danny Welbeck stunned Liverpool in the second minute at Anfield by opening the scoring for Brighton in Sunday’s Premier League clash.

However, Liverpool rallied back and sealed all three Premier League points against Brighton thanks to Reds duo Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool are now top of the Premier League table and hold a two-point lead over second-place Arsenal and three points over third-place Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp is in his final season in charge at Liverpool after announcing his intention to step down from his role at Anfield in the summer.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Roy Keane called Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister a “smart” player and admitted that he is “usually impressed” with him.

The United legend added that he was overall impressed with the Reds’ performance, with Keane adding that Liverpool are playing “sexy football” this season.

“He is a smart footballer [Alexis Mac Allister], I’ll tell you that – I’m usually impressed with him and his decision-making,” Keane said, as per the Metro.

“And again, like anything else when you just speed things up in the final third. He gets it here, the execution, the weight of the pass, the first touch from Mohamed Salah – beautiful. Sexy football to me, this, love watching it.”

Keane critical of Man Utd after Brentford draw

Despite his praise for Liverpool, Keane was largely critical of United after the Red Devils secured a 1-1 Premier League draw against Brentford on Saturday.

Mason Mount broke the deadlock for United deep in injury time, but Kristoffer Ajer cancelled out the Red Devils’ opener and rescued a point for Brentford.

United unimpressed in their performance against Brentford, with the Red Devils suffering a major setback in their Premier League top-four ambitions.

Speaking on the 1-1 draw against Brentford, Keane said live on Sky Sports: “We’ve seen it over the last few weeks.

“They were let off the hook by Liverpool in that game but United got the job done.

“We saw them last night [against Brentford] where they were rubbish — absolute rubbish!”
