'I'm told': Fabrizio Romano says 'perfect' manager is now the absolute favourite to become next Liverpool boss

Liverpool’s search for a new manager is ongoing, and Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest on the situation.

The Reds received a big boost on Sunday after Arsenal and Manchester City both dropped points.

Liverpool are now on top of the Premier League table, and as long as they match the results of their two title rivals, they will end up as the champions.

That would be the perfect way to bid farewell to Jurgen Klopp, who will be leaving at the end of this campaign.

Fabrizio Romano names the manager who’s favourite to become next Liverpool boss

Jurgen Klopp’s departure is a massive blow for Liverpool.

Replacing the German will be an extremely difficult task, and Xabi Alonso ruling himself out of becoming the next Reds boss has complicated things.

However, Liverpool have plenty of names on their wish list, and reports have revealed that Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim are the two frontrunners.

It was recently revealed that the Brighton man is actually on top of Michael Edwards’ wish list, but Fabrizio Romano has now claimed otherwise.

The journalist has revealed that according to his sources, it’s Amorim who is leading the race to become the next Liverpool manager.

Romano wrote in his Daily Briefing: “Liverpool are now top of the table and look to have a slight advantage in the title race after their two rivals took points off each other, but it was also intriguing to see Jurgen Klopp heaping so much praise on Roberto de Zerbi after a narrow win over his Brighton side at Anfield.

“Despite the links with De Zerbi as Klopp’s successor, I keep repeating my position on that – I’m told that Ruben Amorim is the favourite option for now.

“De Zerbi has been on the list for Liverpool for some time as well, but there’s still no development so far.”

What Ruben Amorim really thinks about the Liverpool job

If Fabrizio Romano is to be believed, Ruben Amorim is the favourite to become the next Liverpool manager, and that should come as good news for Reds fans.

Nigel Reo-Coker actually thinks the 39-year-old ‘is the perfect choice‘ for the job (CBS).

Liverpool‘s interest in Amorim is clear at the moment, but what is the Sporting Lisbon boss’ current stance on swapping the Estádio José Alvalade for Anfield?

Well, reports from Portugal have revealed that Amorim is ready to accept the Liverpool job if it is offered to him in the coming weeks.

It has been claimed that the Sporting boss really admires the relationship that Liverpool fans and the club share, and that’s one of the reasons why he would entertain a move to Anfield this summer.

It will be interesting to see what will happen, but we think Amorim would be a great choice for Liverpool to replace Jurgen Klopp.
