10 unmissable movies and TV shows coming to Netflix this week

With so much on Netflix to choose from, it can often be difficult to decide on what your next binge-watch will be but The Focus has picked out 10 must-watch movies and TV shows coming to the streaming service this week (April 1 – 7).

From captivating new thrillers and beloved classic TV series to exhilarating behind-the-scenes sports documentaries, there’s more than enough for Netflix subscribers to choose from, regardless of taste.

Sex and the City (Seasons 1-6) | April 1

The week, and indeed the month of April, begins with the arrival of a host of licensed movies and TV shows to Netflix and undoubtedly the biggest comes in the form of all six seasons of Sex and the City.

The series, which ran on HBO from 1998 until 2004, follows the lives of four New York women who, despite their differences, remain inseparable.

So beloved was the TV series that it continued in the form of two feature films, a prequel TV series and the ongoing sequel And Just Like That…

The Little Things | April 1

Released in 2021, The Little Things is a thriller full of mind-bending twists and turns that got everyone talking when it first hit screens.

Starring Denzel Washington, Rami Malek and Jared Leto, the movie follows a lowly deputy sheriff who becomes embroiled in the search for a sinister killer who is terrorizing Los Angeles.

The Little Things is far from the only licensed movie arriving on Netflix this month as the likes of Baby Driver, Mortal Engines, You’ve Got Mail and The Matrix Trilogy are all set to become available as well according to What’s On Netflix.

The Magic Prank Show with Justin Willman | April 1

Moving on to the Netflix originals set to arrive during the first week of April, this TV series is rather apt given its release date of April Fools’ Day.

Famed magician and comedian Justin Willman uses his extraordinary skills to help ordinary people pull off spectacular pranks on unsuspecting victims.

Together: Tr3ble Winners | April 2

The docuseries Together: Tr3ble Winners promises to take viewers behind the scenes of Manchester City’s all-conquering 2022/23 season that saw Pep Guardiola’s team win a historic treble by claiming the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.

Files of the Unexplained | April 3

TV fans with an affinity for eerie encounters and bizarre disappearances will want to dive headfirst into this perplexing docuseries.

100 Days to Indy | April 4

Originally shown on The CW last year, 100 Days to Indy will be essential viewing for fans of Formula 1: Drive to Survive.

The six-episode docuseries follows the drivers of the NTT IndyCar Series as they pursue the ultimate goal of victory at the iconic Indianapolis 500 race.

Ripley | April 4

Starring Andrew Scott (Fleabag, Sherlock), this gripping thriller is based on the acclaimed 1955 crime novel The Talented Mr Ripley by Patricia Highsmith.

The series takes place in early 1960s New York and follows the titular Tom Ripley who is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy and convince his wayward son to return home.

However, the job proves to be the first stepping stone down a path of deceit, fraud and murder.

Parasyte: The Grey | April 5

Parasyte: The Grey is the latest Netflix series from South Korea.

But fans hoping for the next Squid Game may need to steel themselves as this horror series follows the struggle of humanity to counter a terrifying parasitic outbreak.
