Report: £35m player now wants to stay at Chelsea, he's really enjoying life at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea could be forced to sell some of their players in the summer.

The club have spent a lot of money recently and will be wary of breaking the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, Reece James is one player who Chelsea would consider parting ways with if a big offer arrived for him, while Conor Gallagher is another name the Blues seem prepared to sell.

The midfielder’s contract expires next summer, so Chelsea may very well have to cash in on him at the end of the season.

Coming through the club’s academy, you suspect that neither Gallagher nor James want to leave Stamford Bridge. Another one of their team-mates is also unlikely to be open to an exit when the transfer window opens.

Chelsea star happy at Stamford Bridge

There is a lot of competition at the back at Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino has Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana as his centre-back options.

Of course, a few of those names have struggled to stay fit this season, with Fofana yet to even kick a ball under Pochettino.

However, the Argentine has not really been left short in that area, resulting in Badiashile having to sit on the bench at times. Nevertheless, according to football.london, the 23-year-old still wants to remain at Chelsea.

The outlet claims that Badiashile has enjoyed his start to life in west London despite not establishing a spot in the first team yet.

AC Milan are reportedly interested in the Frenchman, but it looks like he will be staying at Stamford Bridge.

Benoit Badiashile should stay at Chelsea

There probably is not too much reason for Badiashile to get frustrated right now.

Yes, the centre-back is not starting week in, week out yet, but he has had quite a few injuries since arriving from AS Monaco in a £35m deal. That is the only thing for him to be annoyed at really.

Next season, if Badiashile can remain fully fit, he could be in line for much more game time with Silva unlikely to be at the club.

The Brazilian is out of contract in the summer and does not appear to be any closer to signing a new one.
