£39m player changes position and £110k-a-week star recalled: Chelsea predicted XI vs Manchester United

Chelsea face a quick turnaround as they’re back in action on Thursday night against Manchester United.

The Blues slipped to a very underwhelming 2-2 draw at the weekend at home to Burnley in the Premier League.

Now, Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be even more desperate for three points when they host Man United in a couple of days.

In our view, Chelsea were so poor and wasteful against Burnley. So, will there be any changes to the starting XI for the next game?

GK and defence

Djordje Petrovic kicks off this predicted line-up as the first-choice goalkeeper starting in-between the sticks again.

With full-back Malo Gusto limping off the pitch late on against Burnley, we’ve dropped him from the XI. Of course, fans are patiently waiting for an official update from the club, so hopefully there’s good news and he’s fit to play.

£39m star (Sky Sports) Axel Disasi changes position from centre-half to start at right-back on Thursday.

Benoit Badiashile keeps his place as one of the starting centre-backs. We think £110,000-a-week central defender (Spotrac) Thiago Silva will be recalled to the XI to partner him.

Finally, Marc Cucurella retains his starting position at left-back.

Midfield

It’s the same expensive combination in the centre of the park that fans are used to watching this season.

Moises Caicedo partners Enzo Fernandez yet again as the midfield pivot in the predicted XI.

Speaking via talkSPORT last week, Graeme Souness claimed both Caicedo and Fernandez must improve. It would be great if the best versions of themselves show up on Thursday night.

Attack

Cole Palmer must be the first name on the team sheet right now, scoring two more goals in the Burnley draw. Alan Shearer named Palmer in his Premier League Team of the Week via their official website.

Conor Gallagher keeps his spot in the No 10 role for this important match against Man United. We wouldn’t start him in midweek due to his struggles in that advanced role lately, but we can’t see Pochettino dropping him.

Mykhailo Mudryk gets another try to make an attacking contribution as the left-winger.

Finally, Nicolas Jackson leads the line again as the main striker right now.
