FOOD fans, the wait is almost over…Hungerford Food and Artisan Market is back.

The event re-starts on Sunday, April 10, from 10am to 1pm at The Croft Field Centre.

Visitors can browse stalls offering fresh produce, culinary delights and creative goods, with live music from acclaimed folk rock harmony duo Scampy, street food, and a seed, plant and produce share table.

There will be a live cooking demonstration at 11.30am about how to use wild, foraged greens and also health and wellness advice throughout the morning.

Entry is free and dogs on leads are welcome.

The event is organised by the Hungerford Food Community group, whose chairwoman Penny Locke said: "We try to run the markets as sustainably as possible.

“We encourage visitors to bring foil and aluminium for recycling, their own containers and bags for purchases, and a reusable cup to get 50p off hot drinks."

The popular markets will run on the second Sunday of the month from April to October with the Heritage Festival on Sunday, September 8 and Hungerford Apple Day on Sunday, 13 October 13.

There is plenty of parking within a five minutes walk.

Blue badge holders can call 07768 981658 to reserve a parking space on site.

Visitors to the town can also enjoy some local pageantry: the Constable of the Town and Manor’s Parade, led by the Town Band, leaves the Town Hall at 11am.

It then heads down to St Lawrence's Church for the Constable's Service for the community of Hungerford.

Meanwhile Hungerford Food Community is seeking a few more people to join their ‘meet and greet’ team and market set-up crew.
