German minister demands investigation into Gaza aid worker deaths

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock called for a swift investigation into the deaths of seven people from around the world who were working for the World Central Kitchen (WCK) aid group in Gaza when their convoy was hit in an Israeli airstrike.

"The Israeli government must investigate this terrible incident quickly and thoroughly," Baerbock said in a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

"We once again call on the Israeli government to ensure effective measures for conflict resolution. Incidents like this must not happen," Baerbock said.

She also expressed her deepest sympathies to the victims' families.
