‘Disappointing’: Pundit says Man City duo were ‘very poor’ against Arsenal

Don Hutchison has claimed that two Manchester City players were disappointing during their recent Premier League match against Arsenal.

The Citizens were unable to take all three points off the north London club on Sunday, having to settle with a draw in the latest meeting between the two sides.

In reaction to this game, one pundit has criticised two City players for their individual efforts in the match.

Speaking in a recent edition of The Gab & Juls Show, Hutchison had this to say when discussing which City players he felt were underwhelming against Arsenal.

He said: “[Jeremy] Doku was disappointing when he came on. I thought [Erling] Haaland was very poor, but I’d put that down to giving Arsenal a lot of credit on how they managed the spaces.”

Starting with Haaland, the striker completed the full 90 minutes in Sunday’s stalemate and had 23 touches of the ball in total, fewer than any other player in City’s starting XI.

In addition to only completing seven of the 11 passes he attempted, the 23-year-old registered just two attempts at goal, both of which were off-target.

This makes it easy to see why Hutchison was less than impressed with Haaland, who could only muster an overall match rating of 6.7/10 from SofaScore, on this occasion.

Then with Doku, the winger replaced Phil Foden in the 61st minute and ended up having 20 touches of the ball.

Like Haaland, the Belgian only completed nine passes and had two off-target shots at goal.

Despite that, Doku managed to successfully complete three of the four dribbles he attempted, although was unable to make any key passes to help his side find the back of the net and seal what would have been a key victory in their race to regain the title.
