Texas guard Chris Johnson enters the NCAA Transfer Portal

Texas guard Chris Johnson has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Joe Tipton. Johnson only spent one season with the Longhorns.

In his lone campaign with Texas, Johnson appeared in 17 games and made zero starts. The 6-foot-5 freshman averaged 4.5 minutes, 1.1 points and 0.4 assists per game while shooting 42.1% from the field and 28.6% from beyond the arc.

Chris Johnson played high school basketball at Montverde Academy (FL), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 53 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
