Tottenham eye £100m striker transfer amid new summer priority

Catch a round-up of the latest Tottenham news, including updates on Alexander Isak, summer transfer priorities and Ange Postecoglou.

Fresh Tottenham transfer priority

While Tottenham continue to be linked with a move for a striker, there is another area of the squad that is being assessed for a new signing. That is in midfield, where an option at the base is currently being looked at.

That’s according to Alasdair Gold, who claimed: “Tottenham will look to improve their options in the number six role to see if there are potential upgrades available in the coming summer transfer window with Atalanta’s Brazilian midfielder Ederson one of a number of players being looked at. That will present an issue for Bissouma if he cannot find his way back to consistent performances.”

Ange Postecoglou impressed by Spurs star

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has revealed that he is impressed with one star during training over the past few weeks. It comes as the manager continues to gear his team up for the final few weeks of the season.

When asked about Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Postecoglou said: “No, he’s [Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg] doing all he can. He mentioned he is training well and he’s not happy he hasn’t played enough. I understand that.

“There are probably other players in there who are equally as unhappy that they haven’t been playing. That’s OK. I understand that, they’re human beings.

“What I look at is how are they training, what their attitude is like and when presented with their opportunity are they ready to contribute? Pierre certainly has been, but there are others in that boat as well.”

Alexander Isak to Tottenham transfer

Tottenham have been linked with a potential move for a striker ahead of a busy summer transfer window. A whole host of different names have been mentioned, though one of the latest is Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.

Recent reports are suggesting that Spurs are monitoring the Swedish international for the coming months. However, it could cost the club over £100million to secure Isak’s signature, with Magpies manager Eddie Howe defiant that he won’t be leaving.
