'I'd love him': Jamie O'Hara urges Tottenham to sign 24-year-old Newcastle player in swap deal for Richarlison

Newcastle United could only manage a point against Everton on Tuesday night and with injuries taking their toll, the chance of European football in any degree next season are growing increasingly thin.

The Toon currently sit in eighth place in the Premier League table, but have played more than Brighton and Manchester United, who sit in ninth and sixth place. Eighth may just be enough for a European place.

But it will be a job to hold on to that position for Eddie Howe and his men, given the incredibly long injury list that is taking its toll on Tyneside. Failure to get Europe, and players could be tempted to leave.

That, and the rumblings of the need to sell behind the scenes given their issues with Financial Fairplay. Miguel Almiron is a player that may be surrendered, while Alexander Isak is linked with a move to Arsenal.

Rated at a huge £100m, selling the Swedish star would give Newcastle room to move in the window. The Toon are considering a sale – and there will be plenty of suitors after another fantastic display on Tuesday.

Alexander Isak could be a casualty with Newcastle needing to sell

Scoring a wonderful solo goal against Everton during the 1-1 draw, Isak is also touted as a possible target for Spurs. Jamie O’Hara told TalkSPORT (02/04, 11.10PM) that Spurs would love Isak come the summer.

The former Tottenham midfielder also suggested a swap deal, during a conversation with a Newcastle fan – in which he initially offered £30m and Richarlison. He then continued to offer a number of other players.

“Newcastle might have to sell Isak and I know Spurs would love him. It is a step forward for Isak. I don’t think they would spend £100m – but Spurs have been linked, and I’d love him. I’d do a swap deal,”

“We give you £30m and Richarlison. I’d even throw in Djed Spence. Throw in Dane Scarlett as well, he’s young, up and coming. You’re going to lose Isak, gonna lose him. Emerson Royal, back up for Trippier.”

Isak would be a wonderful signing for Spurs, and much-needed

One glaring issue Spurs have up top at the moment is the lack of a strong centre-forward. Son Heung-min is a wonderful player, but he is no striker. He is easily best from the left flank, in a Tottenham shirt.

Richarlison is on the bench but inconsistency has been a major part of his Tottenham spell – with injury also playing a big role in the Brazilian failing to live up to his transfer fee, or mirror his Brazil form.

Spurs need a striker and having a player like Isak that can not only hold the ball-up, but go past players and score all types of goals is just what they need. Will Spurs spend a club-record fee? Very unlikely.
