Tottenham will now rival Arsenal for 'fabulous' £100m striker Arteta really loves

Arsenal have been linked with several strikers ahead of the summer transfer window, but they may face competition for one of their key targets.

The likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko have been linked, but a Premier League star could become available in Newcastle sensation Alexander Isak.

Newcastle may need to make a major sale in order to solve their financial issues, and the Swedish attacker would command a huge fee.

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keen on the 24-year-old, whilst Arsenal hold a long-term interest in him, and the pair now look set to go head-to-head for his signature.

Arsenal to battle Spurs to sign Alexander Isak

A report from The Sun has now claimed that both Arsenal and Spurs are interested in a move for the attacker, who could cost £100m in the summer window.

Newcastle do not want to lose him, but their financial situation could force them into a sale of the striker they bought from Real Sociedad in 2022.

Isak has now scored 19 goals in 32 games across all competitions this season, and has been deadly in front of goal in recent weeks, with five goals in his last four Premier League matches.

Spurs are keen on a striker to help replace the void left by Harry Kane, whilst Arsenal are keen to add more young quality to their attacking ranks.

If Arsenal can pull off a deal, Isak would be an excellent signing for Arteta. At 24, he fits into the younger profile of attacker the club are targeting, and he already has nearly two years of Premier League football, as well as Champions League experience under his belt.

Isak was described as “fabulous” when recently linked with the Gunners, which could see him reunite with his former teammates Martin Odegaard and Martin Zubimendi, with the latter linked with a move to Arsenal from Real Sociedad.

The Sweden International possesses outstanding speed and technical ability, and can also threaten in the air with his height, and is quickly becoming one of the best finishers in English football.

The attacker would be able to play both instead of or alongside Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, and he would add both quality and variety to the Arsenal attack if a deal can be struck.

Arteta was interested in Isak prior to his move to Newcastle, and may now be able to land a long-term target to help take Arsenal to the next level.
