Meghan Markle flaunts chic £3,300 outfit for surprise appearance at children’s hospital

Meghan Markle flaunted a chic, £3,371 outfit for a surprise outing at a children’s hospital.

The Duchess of Sussex visited young patients at a children’s hospital in Los Angeles where she led a Literally Healing workshop.

Meghan wore a floral ensemble to read to kids at the hospital and helped them with STEAM activities connected to each book.

The mother-of-two chose a springtime look for the visit wearing a flowery $3,490 (£2,776) Oscar De La Renta silk-chiffon landscape shirt dress with long sleeves and a sash belt.

The dress showed botanic designs of red, orange and blue blossoming flowers above a green landscape.

The duchess had previously worn the dress in photographs shown in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries from 2022.

Meghan paired the outfit with a classic pair of black ballet pumps with an ankle strap.

The $747 (£595) ‘Love Affair’ pumps are from Aquazzura - the Italian brand is a favourite of the duchess.

According to the Daily Express, Meghan’s collection of Aquazzura shoes is worth at least £17,000 at last count.

The duchess loves the brand and even wore a pair of their pumps for her wedding day.

Meghan wore a natural makeup look with rosy cheeks and a stroke of mascara with her hair falling in loose waves over her shoulders.

She tied the look together with gold, round earrings and matching bracelets.

To support the hospital’s annual Make March Matter campaign, the duchess read children’s classic storybooks like Pete the Cat, Rosie the Riveter and I Saw a Cat.

The duchess has authored her own children’s book, The Bench, which was released in June 2021 about the bond between Prince Harry and their son, Archie.

Meghan said in a statement: “The Bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born.

“That poem became this story…My hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the makeup, as much as it does with mine.”

In a video from the visit, Meghan is seen greeting children as they gathered to hear the duchess read.

The 42-year-old said excitedly: “This is one of my favourites.”

A statement read: “Children were laughing and singing as the Duchess turned into character with every page as she read patient favourite books.”

The appearance comes before the Duchess of Sussex’s potential return to the UK in May to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
