Arsenal have to bid £100m for 'incredible' striker this summer on one condition - opinion

It’s long been thought that Mikel Arteta would sanction a big Arsenal move for a striker who can regularly deliver goals this summer.

Following a mixed run of form over the festive period this season, fans were desperate at one point for Arteta to sign a new forward.

Gabriel Jesus was going from one injury to the next, and Eddie Nketiah simply wasn’t doing enough to convince his manager that he was the solution.

Fortunately, both Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz playing as false nines solved the situation, getting Arsenal’s title-charge back on track.

But with Arsenal set to invest heavily again this summer, Mikel Arteta must surely be analysing several strikers who could make a difference moving forward.

Perhaps the perfect solution would be to sell Nketiah and add a top-level replacement, maintaining the balance in the squad.

And for everyone who has watched Newcastle United’s last two fixtures, it’s becoming incredibly clear that Alexander Isak could be that man.

Three goals in two games, and his record in the Premier League now reads 25 goals in 44 appearances.

Arsenal should only buy Newcastle striker Alexander Isak on one key condition this summer

Of course, having arrived in England in the summer of 2022, some fans may be surprised that Isak has only played 44 games in the Premier League.

And that’s where the ‘condition’ comes in.

Newcastle are said to be ‘open minded’ about selling Isak this summer considering their financial situation, and perhaps that is also with his injuries considered.

Since signing for Newcastle, Isak has missed a total of 24 matches for club and country owing to injury, with three different significant issues according to Transfermarkt.

The 24-year-old is clearly brimming with talent, but needs to improve that record to justify a club meeting his £100m asking price.

Of course, if Isak can guarantee Arsenal around 30 or 35 games a season, the deal looks like a no brainer this summer, the striker is simply that good.

Perhaps it’s odd to say, but if Isak can stay fit and play every game until the end of the season, that should be a green light for Arsenal.

Victor Osimhen will be incredibly hard to sign, and Arsenal can do better than the likes of Ivan Toney and Viktor Gyokeres.

If Newcastle are indeed open to selling the ‘incredible‘ Swedish international this summer then it’s a real opportunity for Arsenal, and one that shouldn’t be missed.

That being said, one Arsenal player who could be on the move this summer may make his first start since August against Luton Town tonight.
