Former Brighton coach just confirmed he will join Liverpool, he has already worked at the club before

Liverpool have made another appointment in the coaching staff that has already been officially confirmed.

While Liverpool haven’t yet found a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, behind the scenes the club are very busy making key appointments.

Michael Edwards has returned to work for FSG again. He is set to be followed by Benfica technical director Pedro Marques. Meanwhile, at Liverpool Richard Hughes has been appointed as the club’s sporting director.

Those key appointments will help Liverpool get one step closer to where they want to be. The ultimate goal is to find Klopp’s replacement. But it’s also important to have foundations around the new manager.

Especially in an era where FSG has embarked on a multi-club mission. Which will see another football club fall under their ownership.

To prepare for this new era, FSG have made another appointment at Liverpool, which has already just been confirmed.

What has happened and who has been appointed?

Liverpool have been on the hunt for another Opposition Analyst for a few months now. It’s a key coaching role that helps prepare the team with important research on opposition teams.

It’s also a role where legendary coaches like Jose Mourinho first made their mark in the game before becoming managers.

Back in January, Dominic King from the Daily Mail reported on his X account that Liverpool were interested in appointing Jansen Moreno as Opposition Analyst. A coach, who is well respected in the industry.

Now that appointment has been confirmed by Moreno who himself, who took to his LinkedIn account to announce the news yesterday.

Who is Jansen Moreno? And when did he work for Liverpool previously?

Moreno is well respected in the industry and has a lot of Premier League experience. He was previously employed by Brighton, Huddersfield and Norwich City.

Recently, he has worked as the Head of Elite Youth Development in the Gibraltar Football Federation, where he has also coached the U17 and U19 national team in the past.

Given Gibraltar’s relatively small size, that has not been an easy job, but Moreno did manage an impressive 8-2 victory over Liechtenstein.

Interestingly, he has also previously worked at the club when he spent a few months at Liverpool’s academy on work experience as a Performance Analyst.
