Arsenal legend David O’Leary has lauded William Saliba after the French defender’s Man of the Match performance on Sunday against Manchester City.
The 23-year-old centre-back has again been influential for the north London side this season with Saliba forming arguably the best defensive partnership in the Premier League alongside Gabriel Magalhaes.
With Arsenal conceding the fewest goals out of any team in the English top-flight this season, Saliba’s performances at the back have been nothing short of massive for Mikel Arteta’s side.

And speaking on TalkSport, club legend O’Leary has now praised Saliba, with the former Arsenal defender lauding how much the 23-year-old has developed this season.
The former Saint-Etienne star has taken his game to a new realm in the last 12 months, with Saliba looking like a defender who has been playing at the highest level for a decade or so.
And praise from O’Leary is huge, with the former Arsenal defender a figure who knows a thing or two about what it takes to perform for the north London side, especially one aiming for silverware.
O’Leary said: “Those two [Gabriel and Saliba] have been outstanding, particularly Saliba, who has been a Rolls-Royce throughout the season. He’s getting better and better.”

Saliba has been a revelation for Arsenal since being introduced into the starting XI last season, with the defender getting better with every passing game.
And at 23, it’s crazy to think that the French international could get even better at Arsenal, with Saliba last year signing a new long-term contract with the Gunners.
The defender has all the tools needed to become one of the best defenders in the world, and for some, Saliba is already in this bracket after his performances this season with Arsenal
