Nathan Ake has shared one thing he loves about being at Manchester City.

The defender played a big role in the Manchester club’s historic Treble-winning campaign last season.

Now that he and the rest of his teammates are in the middle of a key period in their hunt to regain their three titles this time around, the Dutchman has highlighted one aspect of being at the Manchester club he particularly likes.

Speaking in the second episode of the Together: Treble Winners documentary series on Netflix, Ake had this to say on the matter.

He said: “The main thing is that just whenever you come in I enjoy it straightway. It’s not just the team, it’s the staff.

“Every time when you may be a little bit sad, when you come back in the building straightaway you are happy because its the football banter, the jokes, the staff are so good with each other.”

City signed the defender from fellow Premier League side Bournemouth back in the 2020 summer transfer window in a deal worth a reported fee of £41m.

Since then, the 29-year-old has made 118 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side across all competitions, chipping in with 10 goals and two assists along the way.

Now that the defender has shared how much of a positive relationship the City players have with the rest of the staff at the club, this highlights the harmony and constructive atmosphere there is behind-the-scenes.

In terms of what sort of impact Ake’s comments on the City staff and their relationship with the players could have, it may convince players at other clubs that the Blues have an interest in signing to make a move to the Etihad Stadium under the knowledge that they will be joining a positive and friendly working environment.
