The annual captains drive-in welcomed the start of the 2024 golfing season at Southwell Golf Club.
The club’s membership turned out in force to support the club’s incoming captains who all hit ceremonial drives down the tenth fairway before more than 80 members participated in a pairs better ball competition.
Club captain Gavin Stenson, lady captain Liz Martin and seniors captain Martin Aplin all teed off in front of their fellow club members before the start of the contest.
The mixed competition was won by the club’s new vice captains Steve Collington and Jackie Hibbert.
The men’s event was won by Russ Clutterbuck and Gerard Crerand.
The event raised £300 on the day for nominated charity, Beaumond House.
