Tottenham injury latest: Brennan Johnson doubt as three out following West Ham draw

Tottenham have a few injury concerns following their draw with West Ham, including a fresh worry for Brennan Johnson.

Tottenham were unable to turn possession into goals in midweek as they were held to a draw with London rivals West Ham. Spurs dominated with the ball and took an early lead through the in-form Brennan Johnson.

The Hammers struck back shortly after as Kurt Zouma found the back of the net to draw the game level. Both teams had chances to win the game, but in the end they had to settle with taking a point each to kickstart April.

It leaves Spurs just outside of the top four, though rivals Aston Villa still have to play against Manchester City in the week. It makes for an intriguing run-in to try and secure a place in the Champions League for next season.

Tottenham injury list

The Tottenham injury list has thinned out dramatically over the past few months, which will come as a relief to manager Ange Postecoglou. Brennan Johnson is a doubt after taking a knock against West Ham, though he has insisted he is fine.

Fraser Forster, Manor Solomon and Ryan Sessegnon are all longer-term injury concerns that will likely miss most, if not all, of the remainder of the season.

Brennan Johnson injury latest

There was some concern for Brennan Johnson as he took a knock late in the game against West Ham. The forward, who has been in some tremendous form, was forced off late in the game with a substitution made.

Johnson was later pictured with a strapping around his knee, though he confirmed to TNT Sports that he was fine. “I think it’s all good,” the Welshman claimed. “Just from a corner, I’m not sure who it was, I got a kick in my knee and it kind of stiffened up a bit but it’s fine.”

Expected return date: Nottingham Forest (H) – April 7.

Fraser Forster suffered a foot fracture early March, which is set to sideline the goalkeeper for some time. The estimated time frame given has been in the range of a couple of months, meaning a return to action could be on the cards before the end of the season.

Expected return date: Unknown.

Manor Solomon injury latest

Winger Manor Solomon has struggled for minutes since joining last summer, having picked up a serious injury. A knee problem has been causing some trouble and required surgery two weeks ago, adding extra time to his recovery.

It remains to be seen whether the forward will be able to return before the end of the season.

Expected return date: Unknown.

Ryan Sessegnon injury latest

Ryan Sessegnon has suffered a nightmare year, following some serious hamstring issues plaguing him. While the full-back made a return in January, that was short lived as he was sidelined once again and forced to restart the road to recovery.

An aggravation in building fitness has led to more surgery, this time with his right hamstring. It appears unlikely he will return this season.

Expected return date: Pre-season 2024.
