Sooners Making Big Move for Big Man

Well this week has started withs ome strong news for the Sooners and their current standing with Upper Marlboro (Mary.) Wise national No. 9 defensive lineman Trent Wilson. On3’s two national analysts, Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong, have both put in predictions for the Sooners to land one of their most prized front seven targets.

The reality that he could end up at Oklahoma has been trending up for a few weeks but admittedly to see our national analysts confident enough to make a pick surprised many. However, in talking to some sources the Sooners are the staff that have made it clear what a priority he is for them. Beyond that the relationships he has with not only Todd Bates and Miguel Chavis but Brent Venables are paying off in large ways.

Blend these realities with what one source called ‘the track record of success with NFL defensive line production’ and the Sooners are in strong standing.

Strong enough that I’ll join my co-workers in putting in my own prediction for Oklahoma and Wilson. In fact some are thinking this could be a decision made before the Summer official visits are completed.

Sooners Making Waves for Explosive South Florida WR

A player in the class of 2026 that Oklahoma seems to be making a very strong early impression on is Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage receiver Dylan Denson.

Led by Emmett Jones Oklahoma has been putting in work with Denson for some time now, which led to he and his father making a trip last month.

But in speaking to more and more sources it sounds like Denson has really warmed to Oklahoma and that a return trip this summer or during the season is quite likely. Just keep an eye on him as a name that could factor into Oklahoma’s 2026 work more than many may expect.

Young Defender Turning Heads for OU

It’s abundantly clear that Oklahoma is very excited about their massive crop of true freshmen in Norman. And while many names standing out are the players that many might expect one who the Scoop staff talked about sliding under the radar too often last year was Lewisville, Texas defensive back Jaydan Hardy.

Speaking to sources the young safety is pushing veterans in front of him and has impressed everyone with his understanding and maturity.

“He is one of those guys who even if he doesn’t know exactly what he’s doing, you can see him work it out a bit,” a source said. “I guess an active learner or something like that.”

The Sooners safety room is continuing to blossom and Hardy looks like the latest emerging star.
