Balderton Cricket Club from Nottinghamshire complete Three Peaks Challenge in Yorkshire to raise money for equipment and Newark charity, Beaumond House

Members of a district cricket club put themselves through some discomfort in their quest to raise money as they took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

Balderton Cricket Club had 12 members take part in the 25.8 mile journey that saw them raise funds for new club equipment and Newark charity Beaumond House Hospice.

They finished the challenge in around nine hours.

The determined dozen were supported by driver and club patron Stephen Crane who ensured the group got to where they needed to be to complete the task.

The march was led by new Balderton captain Ryan Charlesworth and also featured former club captain Tim Clipsham.

"We had a great laugh doing it together, at times it was tough but everyone pulled through it and we had a lot of fun,” said Tim.

“Personally, as a family, we will always appreciate what they did for my father.

“The great thing is we managed to raise over £3,500 for great causes, if you are thinking about giving please do as we would love to hit £4,000.”
