Adrian Clarke has lauded two Arsenal players as one of the best duos in the Premier League after last night’s win against Luton Town.
The Gunners returned to the top of the standings after a comfortable 2-0 victory against the Hatters, with Emile Smith Rowe running the show and rightly stealing the headlines.
Yet the defence were once again magnificent as Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba claimed another clean sheet, with the Arsenal duo showing why they’re arguably the best centre-back pairing in the Premier League this season.

And speaking on The Breakdown Live, pundit Clarke lauded the duo as the best defensive partnership in the division, with Arsenal conceding the fewest goals out of any Premier League side this season.
Indeed, Arsenal’s defence has been as important to this title charge than the attack, and Gabriel and Saliba deserve all the praise for their performances this season.
Clarke said when asked about Gabriel and Saliba: “I think they’re the best in the division, there isn’t any doubt about that. You wouldn’t swap them, they’re excellent.
“We’re just a controlled team, we don’t give up many chances, and when they did, there was a desire to go block shots. It’s another good day at the office for the players without the ball.”
Arsenal can’t let defensive performances slip now
With Arsenal sat top of the Premier League at the time of writing, the north London side will want to do everything in their power to avoid another collapse.
And Gabriel and Saliba’s performances will be essential to Arsenal keeping this run of form intact, with the north London side now back to winning ways after drawing against Manchester City on Sunday.
The defenders are at the top of their game and look impossible to beat at the back, and Arsenal fans will hope Gabriel and Saliba can continue their sensational form in the coming weeks.
