Luton manager names the one thing Arsenal easily do that Man City and Liverpool can't

Luton Town manager Rob Edwards has highlighted the one key edge Arsenal have over their two title rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City.

The Gunners moved back to the top of the Premier League table after a comfortable 2-0 win against the Hatters on Wednesday. It was a game in which we struggled for rhythm because of many changes, but we were in control throughout and deserved to win.

Edwards has done a remarkable job at Luton this season. His side has exceeded everyone’s expectations, and he is proving to be a very talented young manager.

The 41-year-old has now noticed something Arsenal do that neither Manchester City nor Liverpool have the ability to replicate.

Rob Edwards highlights key advantage Arsenal have over Liverpool and Manchester City

Arsenal are one of the best teams in Europe right now – there’s no debate there.

Mikel Arteta has built a magnificent squad at the Emirates, and after coming so close to winning the Premier League title last season, the Gunners have a chance to go all the way this time around.

Arsenal’s form in the Premier League in 2024 has been sensational. We’ve won nine games, lost none, scored 35 and conceded just four, keeping six clean sheets along the way.

Those are some serious numbers, and Luton boss Rob Edwards has noticed one thing about the Gunners that makes them so good – perhaps even better than Liverpool and Manchester City.

He says the Gunners can play in any sort of way they want and still come out on top, a very impressive trait that Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola‘s sides don’t really possess.

Edwards said: “They (Arsenal) limited City to very little. So, they don’t give you anything. Then, it’s very clear in how they attack but it’s really difficult to stop as well. They’re always there with good numbers and then they can really suffocate you as well.

“I think, maybe, they’re the one team out of all the three that are fighting (for the Premier League title) at the moment, they can sort of play any game – if it’s a physical game, if it’s a footballing game, if it’s a running game, whatever it is, they’ve got the answer.

“They’ve got the personnel to sort of play any way.”

Edwards then went on to claim that all three teams – Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City – have no real weaknesses in their games.

Key stats that show Arsenal are better than Liverpool and Manchester City

Arsenal were the best team in the Premier League for large parts of last season, but it was Manchester City who won it in the end.

The Gunners must have learnt from their mistakes last time around, especially as we are statistically the best team in the country again.

Arsenal have scored 72 goals and conceded just 24 in the Premier League so far this season, which is a better record than both Liverpool (67 scored, 27 conceded) and Manchester City (67 scored, 29 conceded).

The Gunners also have the best xG-xGA difference in the Premier League – 38.48. That, again, is better than our two title rivals, City (37.46) and Liverpool (33.19).

All signs are positive if you’re an Arsenal fan, and we hope we’ll be able to go all the way in the title race this time after the heartbreak last year.
