Small Business Showcase will see the public get to visit several independent small businesses at Newark Buttermarket in Nottinghamshire

A council is championing small businesses in the area by hosting a range of local independent retailers in an event at the end of the month.

‘The Small Business Showcase’ is part of Newark and Sherwood District Council’s ‘Spotlight on Newark’ campaign and will shine a light on what Newark independent businesses have to offer the public.

It will take place on Saturday, April 27 between 10am and 3pm transforming the upstairs mezzanine area of the Buttermarket into a hub for the businesses.

The event will give the public a chance to buy goods and will also offer discounts.

“In Newark, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to local independent businesses and this event plans to celebrate some of their work as they showcase their wonderful services all under one roof in this one-off special event,” said a spokesman from the council.
