Declan Rice gives Oleksandr Zinchenko a new nickname after Arsenal win v Luton Town

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has recently revealed his new nickname for Oleksandr Zinchenko on social media.

There is clearly currently a great sense of togetherness in the Arsenal dressing room.

It is unsurprising that the mood is high behind the scenes at the Emirates Stadium. After all, the Gunners are currently well-placed in the Premier League title race and are in fine form. Mikel Arteta’s side are yet to be beaten in the league since the turn of the year.

The North London club maintained their Premier League title charge with a 2-0 win against Luton Town on Wednesday evening, which saw them retake top spot in the table.

Arteta used this fixture against the struggling Hatters to rest and rotate some of his key players, too. Bukayo Saka sat the match out entirely as he was in desperate need of a rest to recover his fitness.

Meanwhile, Emile Smith Rowe impressed Arteta upon his return to the starting XI. The midfielder may well feel he stands a good chance of getting plenty more minutes between now and the end of the season.

Oleksandr Zinchenko also came back into the team for this match. The Ukrainian left-back has found himself behind Jakub Kiwior in the pecking order in recent weeks.

However, Zinchenko struggled to produce his best performance against Luton Town. This is perhaps understandable, though, as he is sure to be rusty having played such little football of late. In any case, he was not responsible for any calamitous errors and the game time will have done him good.

It would seem, though, that Declan Rice was rather impressed with the full-back’s display. After the match, the former West Ham United midfielder responded to Zinchenko’s Instagram post and dubbed him “Mr composure.”
