ACC releases statement after N.C. court rejects FSU’s dismissal of ACC countersuit

After a win in court on Thursday, the Atlantic Coast Conference released a brief statement after a judge ruled against Florida State’s motion to dismiss the league’s counterclaim in North Carolina court. It largely means the court denied Florida State’s argument that North Carolina was not the proper venue.

Currently, Florida State is trying to sue the league in Florida and Clemson is concurrently suing the league in South Carolina. The ACC has held that North Carolina is the proper jurisdiction.

“We are pleased with today’s decision, which confirms North Carolina courts are the proper place to enforce the ACC’s agreements and bylaws. We remain committed to acting in the best interests of the league’s members and will see this process through to protect and advance the ACC,” the statement read.
