The Wisconsin Badgers lost guard Kamari McGee for the season back in January. McGee was lost to a toe injury, which at first did not seem to be season-ending. However, the backup point guard never made it back to the floor and underwent surgery to repair the toe.

On Thursday, McGee revealed that he had undergone successful surgery and was now on the road to recovery. The Wisconsin guard did so with a social media post with this message attached to Badger Nation.

“This past season tested me in new ways, and part of the journey included the adversity and setback of a foot injury that I suffered midway through the year. As a result, I recently underwent successful surgery,” said McGee. “While the upcoming recovery and rehab will sideline me from playing basketball for the months ahead, I look forward to still being able to work out with my teammates and have the support of our coaches and staff this offseason. This is a necessary setback for a better comeback. I’m determined to work my way back onto the court, and I’m excited for what’s ahead. On, Wisconsin!”
