Jamie Carragher trolls Gary Neville with Manchester United 'bottle jobs' jibe after astonishing Chelsea defeat

Jamie Carragher hasn’t missed the chance to have fun at Manchester United and Gary Neville’s expense following the astonishing defeat to Chelsea.

Manchester United have somehow conspired to not leave London with three points for the second match running despite again being in a winning position with minutes remaining.

Unlike at Brentford, United actually played well at Stamford Bridge and fought back from two goals down to lead.

Antony enjoyed his best game for Erik ten Hag’s side and was involved in all three goals, with Alejandro Garnacho grabbing a brace and Bruno Fernandes heading home.

But Cole Palmer struck with two goals in the ninth and 11th minute of injury time to complete his hat-trick and win a remarkable match 4-3.

Jamie Carragher pokes fun at Manchester United after Chelsea defeat

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher wasted no time in making fun of United’s woes as he immediately took to X to make a joke at the club’s expense.

He posted: “The billion pound bottle jobs,” accompanied with a cry-laughing emoji.

Jamie Carragher also trolls Gary Neville

As well as no doubt infuriating a sure-to-be fuming United fan base, Carragher’s post also smartly pokes fun at his punditry partner Gary Neville.

While on commentary duty for Sky Sports during this year’s Carabao Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool, Neville was famously cutting of Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp’s side won the match late on through Virgil van Dijk’s header despite having brought on several young players due to an injury crisis.

The win sparked the iconic line from Neville: “In extra-time, it’s been Klopp’s kids against the blue, billion-pound bottle jobs.”

Neville’s scathing line went viral immediately but it’s now come back to bite him with Carragher using it against his own side after their spectacular collapse against Chelsea.
