Pep Guardiola’s praise for Aston Villa man
Wednesday night was not a great night to be a Villa fan. Despite a quick equaliser for Jhon Duran to cancel out Rodri’s opener, Phil Foden soon netted a hat-trick to condemn Villa to a 4-1 defeat.
It was a big blow for the visitors as they hunt Champions League football just a year after getting Europe for the first time in a decade.
However, this achievement has been recognised by City manager Guardiola who was full of praise for the Villians, particularly Emi Martinez whom he branded as ‘exceptional’.

Aston Villa rank top in impressive feat
There have been many reasons for Villa’s sudden rise in the Premier League this season. From the addition of Unai Emery to their impeccable form at Villa Park, it has certainly been a campaign to remember.
Now, one statistic has come to light showing another reason why the Birmingham outfit are so high up in the league.
Villa have lost the least amount of points from winning positions this season. When they have been ahead, the club have only missed out on three points.

Rodri makes feelings about Aston Villa clear
Alongside Guardiola, plenty of other members of the City team had plenty of things to say about Villa on Wednesday night.
The visitors made a good game of it up until the cusp of half-time despite the changes Emery made.
Rodri, who netted the opener for City, was full of praise for Villa at full-time. The midfielder commented that the Birmingham outfit’s success this season is a ‘credit’ to them as they look for Champions League qualification.
