‘You’re wrong’: Dion Dublin claims Roy Keane has said something ridiculous about Man City player now

Dion Dublin has said that Roy Keane has made a mistake about one specific Manchester City player recently.

Last weekend saw Pep Guardiola’s side draw 0-0 with fellow title chasers Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

After the game, one figure in the City team ended up being on the receiving end of some significant criticism.

Now though, another pundit has weighed in on the situation and shared his astonishment at the negativity that has been aimed at the particular City star.

In a recent episode of No Tippy Tappy Football, Dublin had this to say about Roy Keane’s comments likening Erling Haaland to a League Two player in terms of playing ability outside of scoring goals.

He said: “I take that with a pinch of salt, he’s not a League Two player at all, he’s absolutely world-class in my opinion.

“I think Keane is probably going off his recent form and unfortunately for Haaland, his standards have been set so high by himself throughout his own career, through his start at City, if you drop them at all, you don’t score for two or three games then he’s having a stinker and he’s a bad player.

“He’s not a bad player, he is world-class, he can play in any side, he gets in any side starting as a number nine, any side in the world in my opinion. League Two player, no, Keane, you’re wrong there.”

In 270 senior club appearances throughout his career, the 23-year-old has scored 216 goals in total.

After finding the back of the net 52 times in 53 appearances across all competitions in his debut season at City, which ended with him winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League, Haaland came second in the Ballon d’Or rankings and was named as UEFA’s Best Player in Europe for 2023.

Having also broken numerous records across his first campaign in the Premier League, this highlights how much of an impressive striker he is and why Dublin thinks Keane was over the top with his comments.

In our view, while it was unfortunate that the Norwegian couldn’t find the back of the net against Arsenal last weekend, likening a player of Haaland’s stature to a League Two player is bordering ridiculous.
