San Antonio (Texas) Alamo Heights four-star athlete Michael Terryis as coveted as they come in the Lone Star State. Texas, Texas Tech and Texas A&M are in pursuit of the dynamic two-way playmaker, as are out-of-state programs like Oklahoma, Oregon, USC, Notre Dame, Alabama and more.
Few schools have recruited him harder than the Aggies though, and he’ll return back to College Station for a visit this weekend, he tells On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
The Aggies hosted him for an unofficial visit on Jan. 27, and new wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins is currently leading the SEC program’s charge to land Terry.
He likes how often the Aggies contact him, as well as the direction of the program under new head coach Mike Elko.
“Everyone’s different because they come from different backgrounds,” Terry said about Texas A&M’s new staff. “It’s a different environment when you go over there. Everyone wants to win.”
Schools are recruiting Terry to play on both sides of the ball
Some of the programs he’s hearing from the most see him playing on offense at the next level as a multi-talented weapon who can play at a few different spots. Others see him as a versatile hybrid linebacker/safety.
“A lot of schools are recruiting me as just an athlete, but some schools have been telling me about how they can use me in their offense and where they can see me playing,” Terry told On3’s Chad Simmons last month. “Most schools, they see me playing receiver or running back.”
Terry has already visited TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and UTSA. USC also recently jumped into the mix with an offer, and he wants to visit the Trojans, along with Oklahoma and Oregon.
“Coach Riley was saying, ‘If you go to USC, you’re pretty much set for life,’ because they have such a good program,” Terry told WeAreSC after receiving the offer. “It is not just football. They offer a great education as well.
The No. 7 player in Texas already knows he will be at Nebraska, as he has locked in an official visit to the Cornhuskers from April 26-28. Terry, who is also hearing from Alabama and Notre Dame, is excited to start narrowing down his list once he sees Nebraska and other programs in the coming weeks.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder is the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 1 athlete as well.
