King Charles' 'Supercharged' Plans: Monarch Is 'Raring to Go' on Royal Tour Later This Year

King Charles could 'finally' undertake a long overdue tour of Australia in late 2024.

King Charles III has been receiving treatments for an unknown cancer since early February, and the spry monarch is said to already be "raring to go" on a royal trip later this year. His Majesty and Queen Camilla are "long overdue" for tours to both Australia and New Zealand, which would be their first as the King and Queen of each nation. With his treatments said to be going "positively," aides say the trip could be set for this October.

The monarch and his consort would undertake a "whirlwind" two weeks this autumn, touring cities in both oceanic countries as well as Samoa. The King has visited all three nations in the past during his years as the Prince of Wales, and is said to be "eager" to be amongst his subjects in what will be over two years since he acceded to the throne.

"The King is raring to go after a significant amount of time off due to his cancer diagnosis," a palace insider revealed. "He knows he can't hang around and is feeling extremely positive after tests meant he could attend the Easter Sunday service and spend time meeting the public, which he has missed. He's over the moon with the way treatment has gone and supercharging plans for Australia, New Zealand, and Samoa."

Australia has always been a "special place" for the King, according to multiple experts and insiders across the past six decades. "Queen Elizabeth II is the only monarch to ever visit Australia, which she did 16 times throughout her 70-year reign," a palace insider dished. "His Majesty has been numerous times as well, but never as the nation's sovereign, which he is eager to do."

The late Queen first visited the continent as its monarch in late 1953, which was part of her massive, six-month-long coronation tour that lasted from November of that year until May 1954. Sources close to the current King claim that his and Queen Camilla's trip would be "significantly shorter" and with much more "downtime" across two weeks.

On Tuesday, April 2, the monarch appointed Sam Mostyn as the Governor-General of Australia, which is his official, full-time resident representative on the continent. She will be installed in her role this July, and will officially host and hand over all of her duties to His Majesty "while he remains on Australian soil."
