'I'll go': Sky Sports pundit now predicts the score when Leeds face Coventry today

David Prutton has shared his prediction for Leeds United’s trip to Coventry City this afternoon.

Leeds head into today’s game sat second in the Championship knowing a win will be paramount to their chances of finishing in the automatic promotion spots at the end of the season.

Coventry is arguably the toughest game Leeds have left on paper as they themselves are still pushing for a place in the top six, and have been pretty strong at home for much of the season.

It looks set to be another pivotal weekend in the race for top two, with Ipswich Town at bitter rivals Norwich City in the early kick-off, and Leicester City in action against a Birmingham City fighting for their lives at the bottom.

Pundit Jobi McAnuff believes both Leeds and Ipswich currently have the edge over Leicester, but that could’ve all changed by the end of the weekend.

Prutton now predicts the score when Leeds United face Coventry today

Prutton has shared how he can see the game going in his latest EFL predictions column for Sky Sports, and is expecting a tight affair.

His former Leeds teammate Ben Parker has already claimed he can see the Whites picking up a scrappy, narrow 1-0 win, which would be a result Daniel Farke would snap your hands off for.

Coventry are the only side to have prevented Leeds from taking maximum points at Elland Road in their last 16 matches, but Prutton is backing a win for the away side here.

He said: “Leeds are another team with momentum. They didn’t play to their best ability against Hull but it didn’t matter. They’ve got genuine game-changers. Leeds should be doing what they’re doing with their squad depth.

“They’ve got Premier League-quality players that didn’t do themselves any favours in the top division. It’ll be a fascinating game. I’ll go 2-1 Leeds.”

Whether Farke makes any changes from Monday’s win over Hull City is likely to depend on if Gruev is fit enough to start.

If he is, it is almost guaranteed he will come straight into the starting line-up considering how badly he has been missed mopping up just in front of the back four.

His return would open up the possibility of Archie Gray returning at right-back, though Sam Byram was very impressive up against Jaden Philogene earlier this week.

Elsewhere, there is likely to be no other changes with Farke all but confirming Patrick Bamford will keep his place ahead of Mateo Joseph up front.
