In Ukraine, 57 combat clashes took place at the front during the day. The enemy continues to press in two directions in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Overall, the enemy launched 10 missile strikes and 88 airstrikes, conducted 71 artillery shelling from rocket systems at the positions of our troops and residential areas.
During the night, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, using 17 UAVs of the Shahed type. All the attack UAVs were destroyed by the air defense forces of Ukraine.
During the past day, populated areas were targeted by aviation strikes:
- Rodionivka in the Sumy region;
- Kozacha Lopan, Kharkiv, Lyptsi, Kutuzivka, Ohirtseve, Kupiansk, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Borova in the Kharkiv region;
- Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region;
- Sloviansk, Verkhniokamianske, Hryhorivka, Berdychi, Kalynove, Arkhangelske, Novoselivka Persha, Selydove, Novopokrovsk, Semenivka, Ocheretyne, Yasnobrodivka, Netailove, Skuchne, Krasnohorivka, Vuhledar, Velyka Novosilka, Vremivka, Makarivka, Urozhainne, Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region;
- Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
More than 100 populated areas of the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains largely unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not engage in offensive (assault) actions during the past day.
In the Lyman direction, our troops repelled 7 enemy attacks near settlement Terny in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through our troops' defenses.
In the Bakhmut direction, our troops repelled 14 attacks in the areas near the settlements Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Vyimka, Spirne, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka of the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 5 attacks in the areas near the settlements of Novokalynove, Berdychi and Netailove in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted to dislodge our units from their occupied positions.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Heorhiivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried 21 times to break through our troops' defenses.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 2 times in the districts of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region; Robotyno in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy persists in its intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro. During the past day, the enemy launched 6 unsuccessful attacks on our troops' positions.
Enemy losses
During the day, the Defense Forces' aviation carried out strikes on 14 areas of concentration of personnel, weaponry, military equipment, and one enemy air defense missile system.
Rocket troops units inflicted damage on 2 areas of concentration of weaponry and military equipment, 1 UAV control point, 1 artillery system, and 1 enemy electronic warfare station.
It is worth noting that during the night of April 7, Russian military launched Shahed-type combat drones on Ukraine. In Kharkiv, one of the drones hit a private house, causing a fire.
According to ISW, the Defense Forces achieved tactical successes on two fronts, with the enemy pressing near Chasiv Yar.
