Kai Havertz lauds Arsenal 'machine' after 3-0 win vs Brighton yesterday

Kai Havertz was the star for Arsenal yesterday in their 3-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion, yet defender Gabriel Magalhaes was also on top of his game.

The 26-year-old centre-back was again sensational at the back for the Gunners, with Arsenal extending their clean sheet run on the road to five as William Saliba and David Raya kept Brighton at bay with ease.

With the best defensive record in the Premier League this season, there’s a real hope that Arsenal can go all the way in the race for the title, with Gabriel playing a huge role for Mikel Arteta’s side.

And taking to Instagram, Havertz was full of praise for Gabriel, with the German lauding his Brazilian teammate as a ‘machine’ after full-time against Brighton.

With Declan Rice, Leandro Trossard and Edu Gaspar also all lauding the former LOSC Lille star on Instagram, it’s safe to say that key Arsenal figures were impressed with Gabriel last night.

Indeed, the centre-back has improved every year at Arsenal since being signed by Arteta in 2020, with Gabriel now arguably one of the best defenders on the planet alongside Saliba.

And yesterday’s performance again showed why the Brazilian international is such a unique player in Arsenal’s system, with no defender capable of performing as well as Gabriel does under Arteta.

Gabriel’s performances have been vital for Arsenal in their quest to win the Premier League, with the 26-year-old simply one of the best in the division and the world as a whole in his position.

Alongside Saliba with Raya between the sticks, Arteta has stumbled upon a defensive core that has conceded just four Premier League goals in 2024.

And if Arsenal are to win the title, Gabriel has to stay focused, with the Brazilian simply too important a player to start slipping up now at this stage in the season.
