The funny thing White and Odegaard were seen doing on the pitch after Arsenal v Brighton

Ben White was spotted doing one hilarious thing to Martin Odegaard after Arsenal beat Brighton and Hove Albion 3-0 on Saturday.

The mood was clearly high in the Arsenal camp after they reclaimed top spot in the Premier League table with a win over Brighton.

Arsenal will have prepared for a tough test against the Seagulls, but they rose to meet the challenge facing them on the south coast emphatically.

The Gunners were brilliant at both ends of the pitch. They restricted the hosts to just two shots on target in the entire match, neither of which came from clear-cut opportunities. At the other end of the pitch, Arsenal manufactured chances to score against Brighton to a record-breaking extent.

Arsenal make statement of intent with 3-0 Brighton win

Ultimately, goals from Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Leandro Trossard were enough to secure all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side. Arsenal fans were particularly pleased with what they saw from Havertz in this match. This was an especially impressive victory given the pressure that the North London club were under heading into this clash at the Amex Stadium.

The Gunners know that they can scarcely afford to drop a single point between now and the end of the campaign. They will also have been aware of Brighton’s exemplary home record, as Roberto De Zerbi’s side had only been beaten on their own patch once before in the league this season prior to Arsenal’s visit.

What Ben White did to Martin Odegaard after Arsenal beat Brighton

In fan footage from the stands shared on X, as the Arsenal players were applauding their travelling fans, Odegaard was spied aiming a playful kick at White’s backside. However, the right-back was able to catch and hold the Norwegian playmaker’s foot, causing him to hop around on the spot to avoid falling to the ground.

The exchange was clearly all in good fun and exemplifies the level of camaraderie that currently exists in the Gunners’ dressing room.

White also already has a reputation for being a “wind-up merchant” at Arsenal and this moment shows that he is very much the joker in the pack.

The defender will likely have been feeling particularly joyous as he, like Trossard, had just been able to get one over on his former club.
